On March 9, 2026, the Sun Hwa International Academy (SHIA) community gathered at the school’s gymnasium in Antipolo City, Philippines, to celebrate the institution’s 24th Founding Anniversary through a Thanksgiving Service and Opening Program. The event brought together SHIA students and pupils, faculty and personnel, parents and guardians, members of the School Board of Trustees, school officials, and invited guests, all united in commemorating the school’s journey and achievements.
The celebration commenced with the Thanksgiving Service from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, providing a meaningful opportunity for the entire SHIA community to express heartfelt gratitude for the blessings, guidance, and accomplishments the institution has received throughout the years. The service allowed participants to reflect on the school’s journey since its founding, recalling the challenges, milestones, and achievements that contributed to its steady growth and development.
During the service, recognition was given to the dedication and contributions of the school’s leaders, teachers, staff, parents, and supporters whose collective efforts have helped build and sustain the institution. Through prayer and reflection, the community renewed its shared commitment to the school’s mission and sought God’s continued guidance, wisdom, and blessings for the future of the academy.
The Thanksgiving Message was delivered by Rev. Dr. Leo Angelo T. Halog, who also blessed the offerings presented by the students, pupils, and parents. One of the highlights of the service was the offertory procession, where members of the community symbolically offered their gifts in gratitude and thanksgiving.
Special emphasis was given to expressing sincere gratitude to the school founder - the True Parents for their unwavering love, vision, and steadfast support for the mission of education. Their guidance has played a significant role in shaping the direction of the academy and nurturing students who strive not only for academic excellence but also for strong moral character.
The service also highlighted the True Parents motto on education which is to, “Love God, Love Humanity, and Love Country.” This guiding principle was emphasized as the heart of the SHIA core of education, shaping the values, character, and holistic development of the students. Through prayers, reflections, and inspiring messages, the community was reminded of the importance of living out these values in their daily lives and in service to others.
Following the Thanksgiving Service, the Opening Program was held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, officially launching the Foundation Day celebration. The program welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of the institution’s founding anniversary. It also introduced the series of activities prepared for the celebration, including sports games, contests, indoor games, and other engaging activities designed to encourage participation and strengthen camaraderie among students and members of the community.
The Opening Program created a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere for the upcoming events, inspiring everyone to actively participate while demonstrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit.
